Tell the next Generation!
Judges 3:7
7 So the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and they forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asheroth. 8 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
I have been passionate about children and training children since I graduated from college. My degree is in music education, certified in instrumental and vocal music education K-12 lifetime certification (in Missouri at least). There is a connection between me and students, that I believe is God-given. I have taught children’s choirs and student choirs all my adult life. I would much rather be in front of a class right now instead of typing away at a blog. That’s how I’m built.
What disturbs me is the number of people whom God has gifted to teach the following generation, sitting in the pew or not at church. I look around at the situation in our country and am aghast by our low expectations in education and the lack of Godly instruction. Was it while we were sleeping, that other people with a passion to teach ungodliness have replaced those who loved righteousness? We have a generation who have no idea what God expects, nor do they care. We have a generation of young people who have been swept away and deluded by the carnival sounds of Pinocchio’s pals. The question remains, where is Geppetto? Where is the one who has spent his lifetime teaching and training.?
In God’s economy, we don’t age out and we don’t get a pass. If we know, if we love children, if we love the Word of God, we will help, teach, and train. We will be a part of Sunday School, Children’s Choirs, Youth Choirs, Youth events and camps, and dare I say it, Vacation Bible School.
We may only have a few years left before the warning and judgment of God falls on us. It might be time for a few of us to get up and get to doing!
Not my best feel-good blog, but thanks for letting me get it off my chest.
Blessings,
Marty
