* Wednesday nights Fellowship meal are at 5pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Please note that there are no charge for the meals; they are on a donation basis. In order to adequately prepare; however, we will need all who will plan to join us to sign up by 4pm on the Monday of that week. We have sign up sheets on the Bulletin board across from the fellowship hall and online (CLICK HERE for online form.)  Menu for Wednesday, May 5th is: tender country style steak, creamy mashed potatoes 'n gravy, southern butter beans, pull apart dinner rolls and for dessert: this ain't mama's banana pudding.

 

*VBS is right around the corner. It is scheduled for June 20-24th. Registration is NOW OPEN! Click HERE to register your child for this amazing adventure. We need volunteers!  Anyone and every one who has an interest in serving in ANY capacity is highly encouraged to join us!  We have a sign up sheet on the board outside the fellowship hall as well as one online (CLICK HERE for online form) where you can sign up to serve in this most important outreach. It is all hands on deck. There is something for everyone to help with. 

*Don't forget to submit your favorite picture of your mother to be used as part of our Mother's Day tribute service. You can email them or text them directly to Carrie or drop them off to the church office. (All pictures dropped off will be returned.)

This Sunday, May 2nd, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • 8:30 am Early Service
  • 9:45 am Sunday school
  • 11:00 am Worship service
  • Tune your radios to FM 87.9 to hear the services in the parking lot. 
  • For those wishing to attend in-person worship service, it is highly recommended to attend the 8:30am service as it is less crowded than the 11am service.
  • This week's 11:00 am service will be live streamed. To access the live stream, visit the church's HOME PAGE and it will be under "Live stream" (You can access it from any computer, tablet, smart phone or smart device.) 
  • Nursery services will be available for both services and Sunday School. 
  • Children's Church will be available for children 4years old - 2nd grade, during the 11:00 worship service.

*Sunday School has resumed in person.  We are very excited to be able to starting meeting again for Bible study and fellowship. Most classes will return to their usual classrooms. Co-Ed III, which met in the conference room, will meet in the fellowship hall. If you are a new member and aren't sure which class to attend, we have classes for men, women, and co-ed groups in the adult department and graded classes for children and youth. Crib babies up to 3 years old will meet in the nursery area. If you are not sure where to begin your Sunday School journey, there will be someone at the Welcome Desks who can assist you.

*Morning prayer at 8:00 am has resumed in the conference room.

*Men's Bible Study is Monday nights at 7pm in the Conference Room.

*We have relaunched the church's newsletter. The May/June edition will be released Monday/Tuesday of next week. It will be e-mailed, placed in the member section of the church's website and limited print copies will be available around the church. If you know of a church member who needs a copy mailed to them, please let Carrie know. 

*Wednesday Night activities are every Wednesday Night, in-person (unless otherwise announced): 

  • Adult Bible Study in the Sanctuary. Study begins at 6pm. It will be transmitted to the parking lot and can be heard on FM 87.9
  • Youth Bible study is held in Youth Haven. Doors open at 5:45pm. Study begins at 6:00 pm.
  • Youth Book Club meets in Youth Haven from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
  • Youth for Christ (Campus Life) meets in Youth Haven from 4pm - 5pm

*The Choir Ministry has the following opportunities available to all: 

  • Adult Choir practice will be held in the sanctuary. Practice begins at 6:45 pm every Wednesday evening. 
  • Children's Choir meets Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and is open to children grades 1-6th grade. (remember, the children are working on, 'Go, Go Jonah!' production.) Children's Choir will meet in the old chapel/choir room.
  • Youth Choir resumes this week (April 18th) at 4:30 pm in the fellowship hall.
  • Handbell rehearsal is Sundays at 12:00 am.
  • If you have any questions regarding any of the above, contact Mr. Marty.

*The sign-up sheet for alter flowers for the 2021 calendar year is now available. You can sign up online by clicking HERE or use the traditional sign up form posted on the Board behind the sanctuary. As of now, arrangements are $49/week. We have several openings for 2021 that need to be filled.

The next Deacon's Meeting will be Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm in the Conference Room.

*National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 6th. The sanctuary will be open from 7am - 7pm for anyone who wishes to come and pray. Our Deacons will be available to assist you upon your arrival.

*Baptist Men's Prayer/Fellowship Breakfast has resumed. The next breakfast will be Saturday, May 8th at 7:45 am. All men of the church are encourage to attend.

*The Youth will be participating in Operation Blitz Day on Saturday, May 8th. They will meet in Youth Haven at 8:30 am. They will be doing yard work. Everyone is welcome to join them in this endeavor. See Ms. Carrie for more details. 

*WOM's next meeting is Monday, May 10th at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall. All ladies are encouraged to join and participate in our Women on Mission.

*The next Church Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19th at 6pm in the sanctuary. All items to be added to the agenda need to be submitted to the church office by May 4th so the packets can be distributed.

*Graduation Sunday is scheduled for May 23rd. We will be recognizing our high school and college graduates in the 11:00 worship service. We will be reaching out with more details with all the plans for our graduates..

*The Youth will be hosting the 2nd Annual Wear Blue to Remember Memorial Day Walk on Monday, May 31st at 10am on the softball field. Everyone is encouraged and invited to join us as we pay tribute to our fallen. More details will be released but mark your calendar now! 

*Children's summer camp to Centrikid is scheduled for July 5th-9th at Barton College. We are gathering the details but need to get an idea of the number of children interested in participating. Centrikid camp is for children 2nd-6th grade. Online sign up sheets are up (CLICK HERE)  and one will be placed on the bulletin board starting next week. A Parent's meeting is scheduled for June 2nd, 5:30 pm in the music suite for all who plan on going to camp.  Let's get excited about camp!

*Youth summer camp to Passion Camp is scheduled for July 12-19th. There are a limited number of spots available. Online sign up sheets are up (CLICK HERE) and one will be placed on the bulletin board starting next week. A parent's meeting to discuss camp and a few other activities is scheduled for May 26th, 7:00 pm in Youth Haven. Let's get excited about our walk with Jesus!

*For those who have asked, here is a link from the Cumberland County Health Department regarding the COVID vaccine. CLICK HERE. It has all the current information available from the health department.

*Everyone is reminded of the church sign-in/out practice. If you, guests, workers, visitors, deliveries or anyone you know is using the church building for any reason, you are respectfully asked to check in with the church office first. It is also asked that should you be so helpful while in the church to receive visitors or deliveries that you be so kind as to send them to the church office.

 *All committees and groups who are meeting in the church are reminded of the church's mask practice. Social distancing must be implemented. Hand sanitizer needs to be made readily available & utilized and finally, please clean the area you are using after your meeting/gathering is over (spray down seats, wipe off surface areas, etc.)

*We are starting to better utilize the "Member Only" section of the church's website. This will be an ongoing process for a couple of months. We will update the information for you; all you need to do is fill out the form and send it back. *We have groups you can join and follow on both the main church and student facebook pages. We post engaging material for children and for youth. Please take the time to check one or all of them out. Also, check out the church sign; it changes all the time.
