*The decision has been made not to encourage or make a space for Christmas cards to be mass distributed this year (i.e. no box for everyone to put their Christmas cards in for church members then sort through every week.) It is recommended; however, if you would like to spread holiday cheer with cards that you deliver them in person or mail them.

*On Sunday, Nov. 29th, we will kick off the season of our Lottie Moon Offering with our 2020 Week of Prayer for International Missions. This year's Lottie Moon Offering goal is $12, 500. Together, we can achieve our goal.

*Thursday, Dec. 3rd at 9am, the Decorating Committee will be gathering to put out Christmas decorations. They will be using ladders. Assistance from willing volunteers is appreciated; especially from men able to climb up and down ladders.

*On Tuesday, Dec. 1st at 7pm, there is a scheduled Deacons meeting. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall. All Deacons are strongly encouraged to attend so the business of the Deacon Ministry may be conducted. Please see Mr. Jim if you have questions.

*Attention parents, grandparents, guardians, care givers and everyone in-between: on Friday, Dec. 18th from 6-10pm, the Youth will be hosting "Holiday/Parent's Night Out." We have an evening full of engaging activities, crafts, games and more planned. You can drop off your child and do some Christmas shopping, holiday wrapping, cleaning, take a nap, watch a movie or whatever you choose. We even have activities and crafts prepared for those "not young in age but young at heart" so care givers can have a few hours out & about or for those who have spent time alone and want an evening spent with us. This is a fundraiser for the Youth so any and all donations are being accepted and will go to the Youth and the trip we are planning in the Spring. We will be posting more information, details and sign-up information in the next week.

*Sunday, Dec. 20th at 6pm the choirs of Cedar Falls will present their holiday musical performance for all to enjoy. Make plans now to join us for this joyous and moving melodious delight. After the performance, the choir will have their Christmas party.

*On Thu., Dec 24th at 5:00 pm, we will be holding our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. We will have communion (with the sealed cups.) The candles we will be using will be luminaries not real candles.

*Make plans now to join us (the Deacons, Choir and the Youth) on Wed., Dec 23rd as we go caroling and visiting widows/widowers, shut-ins and those who need it most. Because of the coordination this effort will take, we will have a sign-up sheet for those who choose to participate. This will better help the coordination and logistics. Look for the sign-up information starting Sunday, Nov. 29th. Sign-up sheets will be on the board behind the sanctuary, across from the fellowship hall and online.

*After Wednesday's conference, we now have a full roster of Deacons. They are as follows: Debbie Angelone, Brian Hughes, Henry Williams, Gary Ballard, Shirley Swart, Doug Albl, Butch Darnell, Angie Parkerson, Mike Mitchell, Kathy Jones, George Lott, Vera Hammond, Sidney Frazee, Sharm Kuch, Gerald Oldham, Jim Smith, Michael Taylor and Steve Blanchard. The new chairperson, Jim Smith, is working with the Deacons to ensure every family of our church has a personal Deacon as we move into the Advent season.

*The Annual Widow/Widower/Single Senior Adult Banquet held in December has been cancelled due to a litany of reasons (and regulations.) However, the Deacons are working in conjunction with other committees/groups within the church to do something else in lieu of the banquet to minister to this most cherished group of members.

*Don't forget to check out Mr. Marty's blog. It is updated weekly. You can find it on facebook or the church's website or by clicking here: https://www.cedarfallsbaptistchurch.org/martys_blog

* Remember the sign in/out practice for anyone coming to the church. Please check in at the office first before going to an area to work. Also, please remember, masks are required when entering the church building.

*All committees and groups who are meeting in the church are reminded of the church's mask practice. Social distancing must be implemented. Hand sanitizer needs to be made readily available & utilized and finally, please clean the area you are using after your meeting/gathering is over (spray down seats, wipe off surface areas, etc.)

*We are starting to better utilize the "Member Only" section of the church's website. This will be an ongoing process for a couple of months. We will update the information for you; all you need to do is fill out the form and send it back. Please take a moment or two to fill out the information so we can make the member section better for everyone. You can find the form at https://www.cedarfallsbaptistchurch.org/member_update. A special thank you to everyone who has already sent theirs; you're awesome!
